Half dead from the weekend I had, I woke up to an SMS from Zhi Han asking if I'd like to have lunch with him and Pi Wei. Agreed and met them at Novena, Darwin and Edward were also there. We had Wee Nam Kee chicken rice. Great chicken rice only second to Pow Sing in serangoon gardens. Then we went to Novena square to do their photoshoot for the piggy bank competition. People were staring at us, especially me, squatting in the middle of a walkway. Darwin's luaghter fueled mine and i had to take several shots before i got a good stable, non-skaky one.

We made our way to marina square to have a game of bowling which turned out to be more of a time of throwing balls into drains. On the way, Pi Wei was biting Zhi Han like mad hahaha. People stared at us. Some ought to be thinking," Is that dude gay?" Tried to keep a distance from them when they were doing that so as not to be thought of as one of those weirdos hahaha. Then at Marina Square. Zhi Han tried to act the almighty tour guide giving us lousy directions but we eventually found our way to the bowling alley. Thanks Zhi Han for ur lousy directions D:

At the bowling alley, we were shooting blanks all of us getting low scores. I shall not reveal my score. It was pathetic that's for sure. Left the alley for the MRT, Pi Wei continued biting Han. With onlookers aroused by the noise we made. Even in the MRT Pi Wei didn't stop. What can I say, we have the thickest skin. Thicker than those of rhino's. Then headed for Newton to catch a bus to Serene. At Serene, I had a serious 1 to 1 MAN TALK with Zhi Han over his issues with PONG, turns out it ain't that bad as Pi Wei reckoned. Then we got on with talking on some down to earth stuff till Hannah came.

Haha the purpose of going to macs was actually to meet hannah to help her out with this week's camp com pubby. Come for service this sat to get what i mean ;) And NO, Lester, I'm not migrating. Well, yeah, met Lester, Ariel and janella who just had a game of badminton. Later pastor Gary came with Sister Eileen and someone who i don't know xD Thank God Hannah's task was not that daunting. I actually wasn't much of a help except for my ranting and detailed-ness and erm, tidyness? Haha we wrapped up by 6.45. Took 156 home, slept midway, woke up before my stop (phew!).

Imagine 2 boys with money all over them.........

Imagine me without you
I'd be lost and so confused
I wouldn't last a day
I'd be afraid without you there to see me through
Imagine me without you
Lord, you know it's just impossible
Because of you
It's all brand new
My life is now worth while
I can't imagine me without you

I auto filled my IPod yesterday, putting in random songs yesterday by accident. This song, Imagine me without you, just happened to be inside. The chorus really struck me. Never did i think what would I be without God. He's given meaning to my life when I was a confused primary school kid who had no purpose. He's given new perspective in life. Now, I can't imagine life without God.

Saturday was tiring but God renewed strength just like a pit-stop in a marathon where water is provided. Service spoke to many including myself. Reminded of my purpose and future. After service, went to Adam Hawker for dinner. Sis varina, Han, Felix and I had stingray. Kai Liang just had murtabak ( don't really noe how to spell it hahaha). Amazing thing was his ferocious thirst for Teh Tarik. He ordered 2 cups, both from different stalls. Went to Serene, Pi Wei and Joel were already breaking and sweating like mad. Han and I were bored, went down to macs, lent him $0.70 to buy a cone. We sat there chatting for who knows how long. Went up and they were still dancing. Went home with Lester who forced me to take 165. Well, it was just about the same haha.

Sunday, woke up late. Left immediately for church, didn't realize the time. (thought it was 1pm alrdy when i reached there only found out when I reached there) Went to macs to have nugggets forgetting I had ordered lunch with the camp com alrdy. Thank God they were just filling. Tim had Bandung that tasted like chin chow. He ordered a "special order", shocked the person taking his order. He wanted a triple cheese burger but ended up paying $0.30 more for just simply an additional slice of cheese or two. Poor Tim. meeting ended at 4, rushed home. Went to the Night Safari. Was too tired to really enjoy it. But, it was quite fun haha.

Today, woke up at 9.30am and chiong-ed to Plaza Sing Levis to get the trade-in-your-old-jeans-for-$50-discount. Gave them my really old pair which i hardly wore anyway. Took me quite some time to choose the pair i wanted. Had to get it altered, sheesh altering takes a good whole month! Well alomst, it'll be done by 18th Nov. Craving for shopping didn't stop there, ended up buying 2 Tees from T-shirt Design Graniph and formal pants which i really needed. Wanted to catch HSM3 but realized I was broke by then.

That's why I'm home blogging hahaha. Now i'm counting how much I have spent.

Saturday
Sunday
Monday
Total: $265

Gosh, I really am broke now.

Couple of shocks this week in the EPL

Week of wonders and Goodbyes
Friday, October 24, 2008

Over the past week, I had little access to internet as i normally do. All these due to the fact that my internet modem crashing on that faithful Monday evening. Well, it turned out to be much of a blessing in disguise. Instead of just wasting my time cus the exams are over, I learnt that many things can be done, even without the internet. It also made me spend more time doing TAWG where God really ministered to me for a LONG time. I spent almost 2 hours in a day praying and worshiping. It was just such a great experience.

Isaiah 40:31
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

This verse totally expresses the feelings this week. When i turned to Him, He gave me a renewal of strength and endurance. Those taking their 'O' Levels take heart in this verse!

Then came thursday. Last day of school, tearful goodbyes and maybe to a certain extent some relief. I'll miss some of you guys pretty much. Most of you I'll see next year but some who I will be seeing very less, some even not at all next year. I'll miss the vibe you bring to our class and what made us the 3I that we were.

Photobucket
Joel
Though I didn't get to know you well, you've been an awesome person who always brought fun and laughter to our class.

Photobucket
Dylan
Another funny monkey, your actions have always been hilarious with your stupid MTVs, though we may not have made any really ones yet. Your "Manyzer" me, will dearly miss you. Continue to carry the fire of God to your new class :)

Photobucket
Gabriel
You've been an awesome fella with your lame jokes. Continue to artify the place with your passion for the arts. Awesome soccer player who defends like a wall. Always trustworthy and an awesome friend.

Photobucket
Phelan
A computer language expert who was always willing to teach despite my idiotcity in such stuff. He's gone on to take on a new challenge in life taking a private course rather than in the mainstream. I wish you well in your trip to being a top programmer. Food was what he brought to the class with his endless supply of chips and snacks. Always been one that would share, probably will be for the rest of his life.

Photobucket
Jun Yong
His one word killer jokes never fails to bring about a stomachache. Often mistaken for a Korean because of his face and his name. my one regret is calling you KB throughout the year. Always tolerant of all my nonsense and did not bear grudges. Though not close, you were a great friend.

Here's a verse especially for the five awesome dudes whom will be dearly missed

Jeremiah 6:16
16 This is what the LORD says:
"Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.

Wish all of you the best in life and may our paths cross again in this never ending cycle of preasure in this high turbulence nature of Singapore Education.

Though results were pretty good I did not feel that sense of satisfaction cus I know I can do better. well, still achieved and 2nd place in class nonetheless by God's grace.

Enough said about school.

Supposed to meet Joseph at 6.30pm but came outa home earlier to meet some old buddies, Malvin, Nigel and Ashley. We spent loads of time just laughing and stoning at KFC but it was pretty fun. Nigel looking like serial killer as we were walking around later. Sat down at Ya Kun for snack which turned out to be my mini-dinner. Coincidentally met Nat, Justin and Janella there, Nat gave me that suspicious look. And Nat, no she isn't. Went to meet Joseph at raffles place MRT. Weirdest thing to do, i ended up taking the train back to Newton to head to church. Took some shots, rapped up the day and dinner time. Learnt more about Joseph during dinner. Day ended there went home to do some work, turned in late.

Wacky weekend
Sunday, October 19, 2008

Sat was awesome hahaha though embarrassing. Had to do stupid stuff which sought of threw my face. I was laughing like mad at myself. What a dumb thing to do hahahaha. Anyway we can early to prepare for the skit ended up spending too much time on taking the weird shots which were also meant for the Publicity stint that day. WooHoo three cheer to the camp com who did ever so well despite some hiccups. Service really spoke to me. Pastor Johnathan's message was like the right message for me cus the holidays are starting and i'll be starting to slack. So, he spoke about authority and how we people of today have been "deprived" of authority and easily accepting lies from Satan who sometimes uses people or even our minds to deliver his message. The practical steps to even use authority was very well said and I used it the next morning.

Sunday, couldn't really wake up, was really TIRED (not). So I applied saturday's message and drove tiredness out of my mind. Woke up afresh, excited and re-enegergized! We did the publicity skit again this time, better with less fumbles and more humor. Thing is my piggy bank DIDN'T make the OINK sound it supposed to.

After all this people have been asking me:" Is that piggy bank yours?" For a millionth time, the answer is NO. Though after the past 2 days I've been fiddling around with it and quite liked the cute sound it made when a coin's dropped into it.

Awesome weekend, Pictures please!

Aside from the enjoyable moments, Today on my bus ride i was reminiscing upon how bad I am at science and to a certain extent math. Thinking what the future would be for me. Being an arts student isn't easy. Especially in a school like mine where it ain't easy to be one when we are simply put there because of our grades in sec 2. Thus we are considered to be the not so good people. Mixed with all the bad influences and stereotyping that all of us are the same. Time and time again I tell myself, Haruki, you are different, much of this self talk didn't help as much as i thought it would. Though its pretty true that i have spent a little too much time on my Humanities subjects which I enjoy, I did try my best, only to get those lousy grades.

Well God didn't have to do much of a change in heart but simply reminded me of the verse.

11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. [Jeremiah 29:11]

God holds my future, Amen!

Post Exam
Thursday, October 16, 2008

Haven't been blogging for days, Tuesday, got my results back, some were awesome some were just plain standard and some were horrible. Generally i didn't do too badly, neither did i do too well.

Wednesday was worse, they brought people in to talk about STI and AIDS/HIV. What is school coming to become these days! Oh well i slept through the whole presentation but still understood what they were talking about generally cus it was pretty much spoken by P. Gary during the weekend. Didn't have much of an afternoon, went out like in the early evening to church for a paint job hahaha. Pretty fun and messy and well someone lazy. xD

Thurs was just a day of nothingness. Had math lesson today, what a bore. Sec 1s get to go to the zoo. Speaking of which its been quite some time since I've been there. Other than that I was stoning in school. Came home to more nothingness so I had some time to ponder over certain things and have some quiet time.

And here I am blogging away to spend my pastime.

Tata!

Blessed Be Your Name
Monday, October 13, 2008

Blessed be Your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
But my heart will choose to say
You give and take away
You give and take away
But my heart will choose to say

Blessed it be your of the lord
Blessed it be your name
Bless it be your name of the lord
Bless it be your glorious name

Blessed it be your name of the lord
Blessed it be your name
Blessed it be your name of the lord
Blessed it be your glorious name

This song really speaks about praising God no matter what the circumstances in life.

Blessed be Your name When I'm found in the desert place Though I walk through the wilderness Blessed be Your name!

Wei Don's Birthday
Sunday, October 12, 2008

Well Wei Don's Birthday was celebrated right after church. We took 2 buses only then realizing we had gone in circles just to reach Great World. Then we went to Macs to have dinner. tsk, should have gone to somewhere nicer since it was Wei Don's Birthday. We bought a cake, our food and it all went wrong when DUBAI SIM JING DENG sat on it with his filthy rich backside. Being a nice fella though, he bought us another similar cake. So we had a "free" cake. Then everyone decided to use that spoilt cake as a dessert or in some circumstances for some fun and laughter. It's really amazing just how Wei Don enjoyed being soiled by the cake on his face. I utterly could not stand those people staining his face, much less Johsua Aw staining his underwear. I think if it was me I'd not be so sporting but Wei Don being the nice and innocent friend of ours simply said "It thought this was the birthday formality what?"

Ah well after that we went to look for a spot to cut the cake cus macs were prolly fuirous for the mess we created. So we found an empty stairway to just tau pok Wei Don and sing him his birthday song. We then came out of that super warm and stuffy place to cut the cake and eat it. The cake was quite splendid but i just did not have the appetite to have more than 1 petite serving.

We caught Eagle Eye at 9.45pm. Quite a good show though it reminds me that computers may one day just overpower us human beings. The movie ended at like 12+. We took some pictures retarded ones and well, a group photo courtesy of a GV staff who took the picture for us. Thank God for Brandon's parents who gave me a lift home or I'd be home super late.

Well enough said! Pictures!

11/10/08

This day started off badly as I was late for CH meeting cus the bus 88 i took stalled 2 stops after i got on. More importantly, CH meeting was great, it really refreshed me on my purpose on joining CH and a timely reminder that CH was MY ministry. What really gave me the most enlightenment was when P.Gary mentioned that we as CH are the first to be sent into the battlefield, weakening the grounds, in this case opening the hearts of the newcomers with our warmth. This is shall strive for from this day on!

Fuel was marvelous that day though many turned up late ;P we touched on the aspect of prayer, this was also spot on for my mates on that afternoon as Pi Wei who is pretty new, learnt the truth about prayer and what it meant to God, it was also really a great time of sharing within the buzz group as everyone shared the significance of 'The Lord's Prayer' to them. It really made me relook at what I do during morning assembly, especially during the morning prayer. Never did I really place any significance on it cus it was more of a routine, one that was boring. But from now, morning prayer, well at least for 'The Lord's Prayer' part, shall now bear a significance to me. But ultimately, i believe everyone learnt something yesterday.

In service, P.Gary spoke about how the World is stealthly influencing our walk with God, it really served as a stern reminder of the boundaries we ought to live by, not even threading by the grey lines. Well, I also have to relook at the music i listen to cus music some music have a certain meaning behind each and every verse and chorus. Therefore, till further notice, my blog music shall be changed to one that is of Godly worth. The example of how David almost fell from glory was a great example of how one would lose it all in just a moment of folly [2 Samuel 11:1-4]. The three main point that would be derived when one falls into this trap would be:

-Abandoning of purpose
-Fousing on own desires rather than God's desires for you in life
-Sin deliberately

Keys to build defensive line:
1.Flee from temptation [1 Corinthians 10:13]
a.Run from compromising situations
b.Run from Godless conersations, no values, very rampant in schools
2.Guard your mind and emotions [Proverbs 2:11]
a.accountability
b.Fear of God [Psalms 119:11]
c. Giving your best time to God

I practically summarised what P. Gary was preaching about haha. Awesome words.

Post Exam Activity
Friday, October 10, 2008

Today was AWESOME, day started rarely late for me, woke up at around 10am. Mum called and asked me to go to town to pass her her passport. Then I went to Novena to meet Wei and Wee Keong, then off to Wei's house for some fun. There we did some fun stuff, we did some break dancing where i learnt some footwork and the Helicopter. It was pretty cool! Then the both of them did some boxing. Till we got bored we decided to go out for some not so fresh air.

We went for a lil snack at Scotts Road, then decided to walk around the area. Then we went to Isetan, I intended to get a top from Topman but realized that it had closed down D: then we went to Shaw to grab a drink. I had Lemon and Lime ice blended Wee Keong had his chocolate milk tea and Pi Wei ordered the weirdest, lychee ice blended. His tasted awful, awfully sweet till the extent no one wanted to have any of his hahaha. Then since we were there and had nth to do, we decided to catch a movie. Then came the problem, we couldn't decide on a movie, so we were deciding between 3 movies, Connected, Painted, and MaMa Mia. Then we did the dumbest thing ever we did a OBEI SOM, that black white thing which people normally use to split teams. I ended up representing MaMa Mia and won so we just bought the tickets and then another problem, the choice of drink. tsk, this time wee keong won and we had pepsi. Fancy the irony, we just had a drink a few moments earlier.

MaMa Mia turned out to be a great movie, i love the storyline and the complete strangeness of scene and everything else. Imagine having three father's for starters, then having them at ur wedding makes it worse. Well, the show ended off pretty weirdly, still not knowing who her dad really is. I think if i were to direct that movie, i'd make them all go for a DNA test to check it out. But the movie was ultimately still hilarious and the soundtracks were out of this world :D Actually the movie is so goodi wouldn't mind watching it again! So any of u guys catchin the movie and wouldn't mind me tagging along just count me in! kekeke.

Then we went looking for food cus it was alrdy 7 when we came out of the cinema so we headed for Plaza Sing for our dinner. Everything pretty much ended there haha. Looking forward to celebrating Wei Don's belated birthday tomorrow! It's gonna be another blast!

Ciao!

EOYs are over!
Thursday, October 9, 2008

Today marks the end of the EOYs, the end of those dreadful late night studying and endless things to remember. Having gone through what seemed like the mock O levels exams, I finally get the feeling of the intensiveness within the hall, NOT. The hall was fun haha i had the seat on the first column right at the back of the hall. It was pretty cooling there as the fan was like just behind me. The only thing that worries me now are my results. Just wonder how i will fare for such an exam. In any case knowing that i've done my best and my life is in God's gracious hands.

Psalms 121:7-8

7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;

8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Anyway nothing much happened today, just had a meal with Yu Quan, Edgar and Daniel. As usual we chatted and ate like every other time we come together. Then I came home and played CA with Yu Quan for a while. I pretty was pretty much as rusty as expected. But so what? It was just for some good clean fun. My whole after pretty much passed quite slowly as expected with nothing much to do.

Then, Benedict came asking me to do up his blogskin for him (tsk..Now he owes me an ice cream from Island Creamery :D) And i also found time to chat with friends i have lost contact with for quite some time. HAHA, i was multi tasking betweeen a few convos. Then as usual i switched the teeveee on and watched away! Coming to right now when i am typing this.

That's a wrap! I hope tomorrow would be a little bit more interesting :) Oh, and there's no school tomorrow WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE...

Good Night!

Dad's Birthday
Wednesday, October 8, 2008

HAAAH! Today's my dad's Birthday, he's 54 now. Just had a simple celebration. I got him the earphones for his handphone cus he'd rather use them than bluetooth. Well the one he was using was kinda worn out so i got him a new 1. (how thoughtful of me)

Today is also unofficially the end of my exams, left chinese, which can't be studied, in my opinion. Well, it didn't go as smoothly as i thought it would, A math was a killer and the only subject I am in danger of failing. Though partially it kinda gave me more confidence to do math as i was able to do and COMPLETE the Binomial question.

Other than these today was pretty nocholant, rain-slack, hungry-eat. Haha, typical boring day.

Can't wait to see the relieve on everyones' faces tomorrow. And mine.
